Become A Vessel Of Honour.
2 Timothy 2:20-21 (NKJV)
"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work."
Throughout Scripture, believers are regarded as vessels laden with glorious and heavenly treasures. Jesus declared, "Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water" (John 7:38), speaking of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
Notice that the water flows outward—it is not meant for the believer alone. Rivers travel from their source to water dry and distant places, bringing life wherever they go.
You are a source of hope and life for many. You are called to share the good news of Christ with the world, to demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit, and to work miracles, signs, and wonders. You are called to heal the sick and deliver the oppressed.
God wants to use you!
Sadly, just as a dirty plate cannot be used to serve food to guests, a defiled or unclean person—one entangled with the affairs of the flesh—is not useful in the hands of Master Jesus.
The prerequisite for usefulness in the kingdom is to rid yourself of evil behaviour that is unbecoming for a Christian.
Without character, God cannot use you effectively because your own bad habits will become saboteurs, undermining the very work He has called you to do.
You are already loaded with grace, power, and the Word. But people cannot receive from you when you are like a dirty plate or an unwashed cup.
God wants to use you to do mighty things, but you must clean up first. Shun gossip. Stop the lying, the bitterness, the unforgiveness, and the compromise with sin.
Lay aside the weights and the sins that so easily entangle you. "Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us" (Hebrews 12:1).
Sanctification is not optional—it is essential. When you cleanse yourself from dishonourable acts, you position yourself to be set apart, useful to the Master, and prepared for every good work.
The world is waiting for a pure vessel through whom God can pour out His glory. Will you be that vessel? The choice is yours. Cleanse yourself today, and watch God use you in ways you never imagined possible.
PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit which is at work in me. Purify and wash me thoroughly by your Word and Spirit, that I may be a vessel unto honour, clean and ready to be used by the Master Jesus. Amen.
