CALLED: To Eternal Life.

Fight the good fight of the faith [in the conflict with evil]; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and [for which] you made the good confession [of faith] in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12 AMP
Your Christian experience must be deeper than just attending church activities or services and listening to a wonderful sermon, and repeat week in, week out. You are not called to churchianity. Hanging out with church folks, though necessary, is not the gist of your calling. If you miss eternal life you have missed everything because that's what Jesus called you to, and that is what He suffered and died for.
Go to church, fellowship with the saints, hear good preaching but don't get lost in the maze. These disciplines must help you live the eternal life which was with the Father but now has been manifested to us. John is succinct; "The life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—" (I John 1:2 NKJV).
When we're born again we join the fellowship of the Godkind (those who have the Godlife). Christainity is more than a religion. In religion people are hoping and striving to get eternal life through good works and rituals, but in Christ, eternal life is a present hour possession; "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God." (I John 5:13 NKJV). You have eternal life now.
Let's go party, hiking, bungee jumping, camping, conferencing, but never get lost in churchy furore. We have been called to eternal life. That is the bedrock of the Christian faith. Every activity or pursuit in your church life must be geared towards the nurturing or development of that God life you received in Christ when you were born again.
SPEAK OUT
I was called to eternal life. I refuse to be lost in the peripherals. I choose to lay hold on eternal life.
