“Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; and ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.” (1Co 3:21-23).
When something is yours that means you own it. If you own something you have power over it. In Christ Jesus you own everything including all the great men of God, the world, life, DEATH, things present, and also things to come. It is remarkable to hear Paul say that death is yours too. That means death is a tool in your hands. You can use death for your benefit.
In what ways can you employ death to work for you? Think about a cancerous growth in your lungs for example, you can deploy death to kill it. Jesus used death as a tool to achieve our redemption. He said, “Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” (John 10:17-18).
Death did not lord it over our Lord Jesus. He died when and how He was supposed to die because He exercised power over death and the grave. On the third day He rose as He promised. Death could not stop Him.
Death can be a good servant but makes a lousy master. Thank God that our Lord Jesus delivered us from the power of death to reign with Him in life.
Death is a tool I use for good in my life. I command everything that is not from God in my life to die in the Name of Jesus.
