Faith In The Faithful God

"He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it." (1 Thessalonians 5:24 NKJV)

Putting faith in God means leaning wholly on Him through Jesus Christ. It is throwing yourself unreservedly on the person of Christ, knowing that He can be trusted.

Our faith is based on His faithfulness.

The word faithful is the Greek word pistos, which means trustworthy. God is trustworthy. His Word is dependable, His promises are sure, and hope in Him is true hope.

We are not consumed because He does not change. Malachi took note: "For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob." (Malachi 3:6 NKJV)

You can give Him the driver's seat of your life and trust that He will get you to where He promised you.

People who struggle with faith do so because they haven't seen clearly how faithful God is. Once your heart is settled on the matter of God's faithfulness, your faith will know no bounds.

The revelation of His faithfulness made David proclaim, "I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread." (Psalm 37:25 NKJV) He had walked with God long enough to see His consistency.

Remember: "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19 NKJV)

Abraham did not waver at the promise of God. He was fully persuaded that what God had promised, He was willing and able to perform.

Prayer

Father, thank You for showing up for me consistently. Those who trusted in You were not put to shame, and You are the same God today. My faith is strong, knowing how dependable You are. In Jesus' name, Amen.
