Finished Work Part 1
| Spiry Tee
"So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit." John 19:30.
When Jesus started out His ministry He knew what He was set for, "For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me." John 6:38 KJV. He was determined to finish His course, "Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work."" (John 4:34). Then on the cross He cried out that it was all done. He finished the work the Father sent Him to do. He came to do what we could not. He came to pay a debt we could not pay. He bore our sins and died the death that was supposed to be our death. He loved us with everything He had until every little sin anywhere in the world was eternally erased.
Today, as many as believe in His Name are the children of God with rights and privileges. They only come to inherit what was worked for by Jesus. The only work all believers are to do is to believe in Jesus (John 6:29). We are called to the rest because all the work for our salvation was done and completed by Jesus Christ to the full. We must be diligent to enter that rest, "For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief." (Hebrews 4:10-11 KJV). The whole world is being called to stop struggling, stop working to be accepted by God, stop carrying your shame, guilt and condemnation.
Our death has been paid for. Dying and going to hell and the lake of fire is now a choice only you can make by rejecting your paid ransom. Coming into Christ is coming into rest. Christ is our Sabbath. God rested on the seventh day(sabbath day) and He is calling us into His rest where survival is not a constant struggle; a rest where relating with and serving God is not a burden unbearable. In His rest living a holy and righteous life is not an excruciating experience. Jesus did it all and you are called to enter into Life and enjoy His rest. The struggle that was brought upon all by the death of the first man has been eternally and indefinitely suspended in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
SPEAK OUT.
The struggle that was brought upon all by the death of the first man has been eternally and indefinitely suspended in Christ Jesus.
