When I think about how the world view God, the inscription at the altar of Mars' Hill comes to mind. For many in the world including religious people, He is the "unknown God" . (Acts 17:22-31).
The only accurate way to know God is to know Christ. Jesus said anyone who has seen Him has seen the Father. We only FULLY get to know God when we see Him as the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, and not the God of Elijah or Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
God revealed through Elijah, Abraham, Moses and all Old Testament saints was only in part. Jesus is the full brightness of His glory and the express image of His Person. The Lord Jesus said that nobody has seen God at any time, only Him did (John 6:46).
So next time you think about God think about Jesus because ONLY in Christ is the Father FULLY manifested. In Christ we see a God who heals and not afflict, we see a God who blesses and not curse, we see a God who makes alive and not murder. Indeed God was manifested in the flesh. Hallelujah!
