His Presence Is Home.

"Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
John 14:6 NKJV

Many Christians are overly consumed with the idea of heaven as a place where the redeemed of the Lord shall walk and live. For many, they are on a journey to a place, so they are trying to keep the guidelines so that they can be accepted when they get to heaven's door.

There is no doubt that there is a place called heaven and is very beautiful but in His teaching ministry, the Lord Jesus spoke a lot about the Father than He did on people going to heaven. His focus was to reconcile the world to the PERSON of the Father. The Bible says, "...God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself..." (II Corinthians 5:19 NKJV).

Christianity is all about a love relationship between God and man, which in turn produces love relationships between people. Our home is not a place called heaven, our home is the Presence of the Father. Once you come to God you have come home.

The Jews thought that by entering Canaan they will find rest only to find out that the rest was eluding them. Joshua could not give them rest even though they got the land. They didn't realize early enough that man is a spirit and his rest is only in one place- God. Saint Augustine of Hippo said, "Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee."

Stop using Jesus as a passport to get to a spiritual land mass called heaven and start relating with the Father. If you are born again you are not going home, you are at home already in God. His presence in your life is home.

Stop singing songs like "We are marching over to Jerusalem". The Bible says, "But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who  are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that  of Abel. (Hebrews 12:22‭-‬24 NKJV).

And in His presence nothing dies. In His presence nothing gets old. In the awesome presence of Him who is to be feared, there is nothing else to fear. When the presence of God is our focus and pursuit, we will not be satiated with just doing church and walking away.

SPEAK OUT.
I am at home in God. His presence is where I dwell. And In His presence I have life and health forever. Amen.
