“I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes.”
Hosea 13:14 NKJV

Jesus was destined to be the end of death. Death was reigning like a king and no one could dare challenge death because all sinned and fell short of the glory of God, and the penalty of sin was death upon all.

But it had been prophesied that Jesus would come and ransom mankind from the power of death. He would be an enemy of death, that death would experience a plague called Christ, the grave would be destroyed by Jesus, and He would do it without mercy. Praise God.

The Lord Jesus came, lived and died for us on the cross. The third day, He rose from the dead triumphantly.  When death thought it had finished with Him, He came back with a vengeance to punish death. Today death knows its limits.

Jesus defeated death by destroying Him who had the power of death. "Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (Hebrews 2:14‭-‬15 NKJV).

When we walk with Jesus we live free from death. Death was paralyzed by Jesus at the resurrection. When the Lord Jesus rose from the dead we were in Him. We are born from death. Resurrection life is working in us right now. We must walk with that consciousness everyday.

Even believers who are dead shall experience this resurrection power and come out of their graves at the end of the age. When that happens the saying "death is swallowed up in victory" shall be brought to pass (Isaiah 25:8).

Jesus destroyed the devil who had the power of death and delivered me so that I can walk free from the power and influence of death.
