JESUS IN PROPHECY: Deliverer Of Those Appointed To Die.
| Spiry Tee
"This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord . For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; From heaven the Lord viewed the earth, To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To release those appointed to death,"
(Psalms 102:18-20 NKJV).
The Bible says that everyone sinned and fell short of the glory of God only to be justified freely by His grace through Jesus Christ our Lord. By reason of sin, man was in bondage. Like a prisoner, man served sin and all the passions of the flesh.
Man was hopeless and doomed. The sentence of death was upon all, for every soul that sins dies. But God looked down from His high heaven with mercy in His eyes and made up His mind to get the prisoner of sin out and his name squashed from the death row.
Hebrews 9:26-27 says, "And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation."
(Hebrews 9:27-28 NKJV)
Remember, man was appointed to die because of sin. But God had mercy on us and sent His only beloved Son, Jesus, to take our place and be offered as a sacrifice for our sins and subsequently annulling our appointment with death. Jesus met our appointment with death so that we can live.
God be praised for His marvelous grace. Now we await His coming when He will meet a glorious and victorious church. He has dealt with sin and all enemies that could threaten the church.
The prison doors of sin were shattered, the shackles of sin eternally broken, and our names transferred from the gallows row into the book of life. Praise God for His grace.
SPEAK OUT.
I am no longer a prisoner of sin and my appointment with death has been eternally annulled by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ my Lord on the cross.
