Know Ye Not That We Shall Judge Angels?

"Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?"
I Corinthians 6:3 NKJV

When Apostle Paul uses the phrase "know ye not", it is clear that he assumed the matter in discussion was common knowledge in the church. The Corinthian saints were supposed to have been well versed with this matter but it's obvious they weren't. How many things were you supposed to have been acquainted with and grown into that you haven't grasped yet? Hebrews says, "For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food." (Hebrews 5:12 NKJV).

Paul expected the Corinthian church to know who they were after they were born again but it's clear that spiritual growth does not happen automatically. There must be intentional feeding and nurturing of the spirit man through the Word. God has placed believers on a new pedestal; a level equal with Himself. Jesus did not "consider being equal with God as something to be held onto" (Philippians 2:6). Our Lord and Savior rejected His equal status with God so that our status as gods can be restored. We are now qualified by His grace to judge angels. That's a pretty humongous calling if you think about it, and it certainly reaffirms our position as associates of the Godkind.

Apostle Paul rebuked the Corinthian church of thinking carnally about themselves which made them unable to even resolve disputes among believers. He told them plainly how foolish it was for people who will judge wrongdoing among the angels to be unable to judge matters of this life. It's disgraceful for Christians to take each other to court and be judged by unbelievers. Rather get cheated than debasing yourself like that.

Psalm 82 prophesied about the sons of God: "God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods. How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked? Selah. Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked. They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable. I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High. But you shall die like men, And fall like one of the princes.” Arise, O God, judge the earth; For You shall inherit all nations." (Psalms 82:1‭-‬8 NKJV).

SPEAK OUT.

I choose to stand in my calling as a judge among the gods.
