Quit When You're Done.

So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit."
John 19:30 NKJV

A child of God must be indefatigable. Like Jesus, you can endure hardship, bear the hostility of sinners, and despise the shame.

The Lord Jesus was sent to accomplish eternal redemption for us. His journey to the cross was marked by controversy at His conception, threats of death from Herod when He was an infant, rejection by His own brothers, persecution from religious leaders, and betrayal by one of His closest companions.

He was sentenced to death with sinners, numbered with the transgressors, and counted worse than Barabbas the insurrectionist.

They spat at Him, ridiculed Him, mocked Him, and called Him all sorts of unsavoury names. But the One accused of being Beelzebub knew that His mission was to bring the blessing of Abraham to all who would believe.

He didn't care that the Jews did not believe Him. He remained steadfast to the assignment.

He refused to stop when He was overwhelmed with the sorrow of death in the garden of Gethsemane. All He wanted was for the Father's will to prevail, so that He could finish His course with joy.

And when everything written of Him in the volume of the Book was fulfilled, He cried out with a shout of victory, "It is finished!" And immediately He gave up the ghost.

Refuse to give up until 'it is finished'. Don't abandon your Christian journey midcourse because of distractions. Lack can be a distraction. People's opinions can be a distraction. But remain steadfast to the end.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the example of the Lord Jesus. I choose to rest only when I am done. I will not quit on my faith, my assignment, or my divine destiny, in Jesus' name. Amen.
