SALVATION: Saved By Grace
|Spiry Tee
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV
Our salvation is the most supernatural phenomenon anywhere in the universe. How God managed to bring about our salvation all by Himself is a miracle beyond description. We must emphasize that God saved us all by Himself without our participation. Even if we wanted to help God, we had no sense and capacity to even imagine He was upto something as gracious as saving us from death. He did it while we were busy sinning. The Son of God bled and died a shameful death to save us. It was all by grace.
No man can boast of their salvation because it is not of works. Our self effort to attain salvation is worthless and oftentimes offensive to God because it borders on self righteousness, a horrible sin before God. The only work we are permitted to do when it comes to our salvation is to receive it by faith. That's all. Henceforth, our relationship with God is not works-based but grace-based. There are some people who believe that they can lose their salvation if they misbehave. That mentality is wrong. You can not lose your salvation by works when you received your salvation by grace. You cannot lose by works what you gained by grace.
You should not be insecure about whether or not you might lose your salvation. He that purchased it for you and started a good work in you shall perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. The scripture says the one who saved you will keep you from falling. "Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight," (Jude 1:24 AMP). If He was able to save, He is able to maintain that salvation. Jesus claimed by His own mouth that the sheep He gives eternal life shall NEVER perish because they have double eternal security in Jesus and the Father: "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. I and My Father are one.” (John 10:28-30). Losing eternal life(salvation) once you are born again is the same as losing your humanity after birth. It's very unlikely to happen (putting it mildly). Rest assured today my friend that you will never perish or lose your eternal life. Stop trying to maintain it and start resting on the strong shoulders of your loving Shepherd able to keep you from falling. You are saved by His grace and you will be sustained by the same.
SPEAK OUT.
I am saved by grace and I will never perish because He who saved me will keep me from stumbling.
