A Tale Of Two Sons.

| Spiry Tee

"It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found."
Luke 15:32 NKJV

During the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus, there was a day when tax collectors(corrupt) and sinners drew near to hear Him but he religious leaders of the day complained and criticized the Lord for receiving sinners and eating with them.

In response the Lord gave fiery parables to describe what He was doing by receiving sinners. In one of them the Lord Jesus spoke of a man with two sons. The younger asked for his inheritance from the father and when he was granted he checked out of the house to a far country to spent his inheritance.

It was not long before he finished everything and suffering mode was activated. He found a job of feeding pigs, an abominable and degrading job in the Jewish ear. Not only was the boy feeding pigs, but his food was pig food. It was a dehumanizing situation he was in.

But poverty helped him awaken to reason, and he decided to go back to the father and humble himself.  The father saw him afar off and ran towards him, embraced him and kissed him. For the father a party was in order because his son was dead but now alive.

This story is a picture of our heavenly Father. Anyone who is not in a relationship with Him is dead. Even though this young man thought he was alive and enjoying himself, he was dead as far as the father was concerned. Without Jesus, you are dead. But once you come home to the Father's presence through Christ you come alive.

Without Jesus you are a lost soul. A lost person is one who has lost a sense of direction. They don't know where they are going.  Do you feel that way? Do you feel like your life has no meaning at all and there is no point or purpose to your existence? You feel lost like a speck in the sea of a seven billion populace?

God can give you purpose once you come home. He is actively looking for you. You were born for a purpose and you're a child of divine destiny. When you find life in Christ you will find meaning.

And for those who are at home with the Father, we must not be like the elder brother in Jesus' story who was not satisfied with the Father. Are you with God and yet you are not happy and fulfilled? You keep measuring yourself against the world. You think God is holding back good things for you.

The elder brother was proud of his service to the Father but it is certain that he did not esteem his relationship with his Father so highly. Your connection with the Father is the single most important thing in the universe. Refuse to love the world and the things that are in the world. There is no life or joy in partying with the world.

Don't be like the elder brother who wished to party with friends and not with the Father. Enjoy God's presence now that you are in Christ and be happy for those to whom the Father is showering His love. That is the spirit of a son.

SPEAK OUT.
I am glad the Father received me home through Christ. I was dead but now I am alive forevermore. I was lost but now I am found.
