THE CONCEPT OF SIN: The Sting Of Death

| Spiry Tee

"The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law."
I Corinthians 15:56 NKJV

Human beings have discovered the law of cause and effect that says that whatever effect we see, there is a cause. That law has been in operation since the foundation of the world. That law debunks the theory of evolution and the big bang. There has to be someone who created matter, light and energy. It is God who caused the universe to come into being through His Word.

The same Bible that documents the origin of matter, unveils the origin of death and all the problems in the universe. Sin. When sin came, death also came. "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—" (Romans 5:12 NKJV). All the hospitals, morgues, and cemeteries can trace their origin to sin.

Before sin came everything was working out as it should. Sin set all the foundations of the world out of course. The ground is no longer as fertile as it should be. Whenever you see or use fertilizer in your farm, remember that sin brought all that. There was no need for fertilizer until the ground was cursed because of sin. When you see thorns and thistles in the field remember the curse that was brought by sin into the world.

Poverty, lack and hardships are all products of sin. When man rebelled against God he punished himself with hard life. The Psalmist said, "Fools, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of food, And they drew near to the gates of death." (Psalms 107:17‭-‬18 NKJV). The human race is afflicted with all manner of diseases, economic hardships, political turmoil, and wars because of our foolishness to reject God's rule and authority over our life. So everyone draws near to the gates of death as each day passes.

Thank God for the ransom in Christ Jesus. “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death. O Death, I will be your plagues! O Grave, I will be your destruction! Pity is hidden from My eyes.” (Hosea 13:14 NKJV). God has ransomed us from the power of the grave by sending Jesus to take away the sting of death, that is sin. Death has no venom to hurt you anymore once Jesus washes your sins away. It is time you affirm that constantly.
