THE CONCEPT OF SIN: The Strength Of Sin

| Spiry Tee

"The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law."
I Corinthians 15:56 NKJV.

The Bible says the law came by Moses but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. It also says that the law kills but the Spirit gives life. The holy scriptures are replete with warnings and declarations about the law. The law was and is still good, righteous and holy but the same law ended it's course in Christ. Jesus' work on the cross nailed the law to the cross, forever making it obsolete this side of the cross of Christ.

Many people think the law will make them law abiding citizens of the kingdom of God but it's effect is actually the opposite. You will be a law breaker who does not abide for long, because the law kills. The law like foreplay in sexual scenes rouses sin even when it was dormant. Sin gains strength and power through the law. As a result, through the law no flesh will be justified.

I pray that church leaders and preachers all over the world will move with God. God has left Mount Sinai and has moved to Mount Zion. Mount Sinai depicts the old covenant that brought the law that brings bondage, while Mount Zion is a figure of the church of the Firstborn, who are under the new covenant of grace that makes men free. Preaching the gospel mixed with law is deadly.  If we seek to be justified by the law, Christ shall profit us nothing.

Some people think we should "preach against sin". Well, nothing wrong with that statement if you know how to preach against sin. The only effective way to preach against sin is to tell people that Jesus defeated sin and the power of sin over them was broken. Telling them that their sins, past, present and future have been forgiven and taken away is an effective way of preaching against sin.

Unveil to the saints that sin shall not have dominion over them because they are not under law but under grace. Make it known that their sins and iniquities God remembers no more. Refuse to give sin the power it doesn't have anymore over people by dropping phrases like "everyone is a sinner" from your vocabulary. The Bibles tells us that he that is born of God cannot sin for His seed remains in Him. Hallelujah.

We cannot celebrate that Jesus defeated death and yet in the same breath imply that sin is this all powerful monster noone can dare conquer. It is a contradiction in terms. Death came by sin. If Jesus defeated death it means he dealt with the matter of sin forever. He destroyed him who had the power of death and delivered all those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Sin was nailed to the cross, the power of sin (the law) made of none effect, death vanguished on resurrection morning, and life eternal made available worldwide. What a message to tell the whole world.

SPEAK OUT
I am no longer under the law, so the power of sin over my life is broken.
