The Dayspring From On High.
| Spiry Tee
"Through the tender mercy of our God, With which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; To give light to those who sit in darkness and the SHADOW OF DEATH, To guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Luke 1:78-79 NKJV
The Lord Jesus came to start a new day, a new season and a new dispensation. That day is right here right now. Zechariah by the Spirit called Jesus the "Dayspring from on high" which means the first light of day- the Dawn.
In this new dispensation, we walk in the light, we are children of the light and of the day. Even the coming of the Lord will not be as a thief to us because we are awake in the day, we are not like those who sleep in the night (1Thessalonians 5:4-5).
Now that the light of life has come, those who sat in the shadow of death are basking in the glory of the Light of life. This is the true Light. The Psalmist said that he was walking in the "shadow of death" because the Dayspring from on high had not come yet(Psalm23:4).
Today, that verse doesn't apply to the man in Christ because God is light and in Him is no darkness or shadow of turning. We are walking in the light of life. Death's dominion over us is dethroned in Christ. It's overbearing shadow fled away when the Light of life landed in our cosmos in the person of Jesus Christ our Lord. Hallelujah!
