THE GREAT MYSTERY: God Received Up In Glory.
Spiry Tee
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
I Timothy 3:16 NKJV.
Jesus broke many laws of nature and physics when He walked on the planet but He reached the crescendo of the miraculous when He ascended into heaven. That was the most fantastic and spectacular event to ever witness for His disciples as though it was not enough wonder for Jesus to have defied the laws of physics by walking on water. Could Peter explain to wannabe disciples what happened to liquid and gravity that day? Again, what was in His vocal chords that made the boisterous sea lay postrate at His command. Any connection between His sound waves and sea waves?
Maybe John could help the church understand what was the relationship between His voice and plant life that made a fig tree dry up from the roots in twenty four hours after He cursed it? Talk of medical procedure, how did He know it would work if He makes clay of spittle, shove it into the eye sockets of a man born blind whom he commanded to go wash in the pool of Siloam and came back seeing? Which medical school today teaches this same procedure by the way? Well, Jesus was in the world but not of the world.
I can bet that all literature available on biology would not be able to explain how a man who bled for hours, had a raptured heart and unrecognizable form, and was clinically dead could wake up alive on the third day when decomposition is supposed to have set in. As if that wasn't enough, Jesus came into the room where the disciples where gathered the doors being shut. He walk right through the walls? You see, walking with Jesus is such an adventure you never know what jaw-dropping act He would perform next.
The disciples had witnessed blind eyes open, the lame walking, the dead raised, the lepers cleansed but Jesus' stream of the miraculous was now entering a climactic moment. As He blessed them, He was separated from them and began to levitate right in front of them. He didn't disappear, He ascended. His body mass defied gravity and kept going up while the disciples watched in wonder. The King had subdued all in the earth, from natural disasters to infectious diseases; from the powers of Satan to death itself. He did not escape to hide in the heavens like what some Christians are hoping for. He went majestically after having purged our sins and He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on High. Hallelujah!
By the grace of we are now seated together with Christ in the heavenly places. The glory which the Father bestowed on Him after His resurrection now rests on us. We live, breathe, and belong to the Excellent Glory. Jesus taken up into glory does not just mean He changed location from earth to heaven , no. He entered a place where God lives, a place of power, authority and privilege. When He entered that place of glory we entered too in Him. We are now seated with Christ in glory and we are above nature, the world and death. What a mystery!
SPEAK OUT.
I am seated with Christ in glory and I am above nature, the world and death.
