The Moral Qualities Of Eternal Life.

"We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him."
I John 3:14‭-‬15 NKJV

Sin! A buzz word in worship centers around the world. "We should preach against sin!" they bellow. But really? How do you preach against sin? What is sin? Most people don't know what is sin and how the problem of sin can be dealt with. For the records Jesus never said "Go ye and preach against sin"; He sent us to preach the good news that people's sins have been forgiven having been paid for in His death and anyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. His resurrection was proof that our sins have been eternally erased in Him. God is no longer counting men's sins against them. We are called to preach that sin shall not have dominion over them because they are under grace. Sin has been defeated and nailed to the cross together with the law that empowered it. Sin has been rid of its strength and we should not resuscitate it by bringing the law back to the pulpit.

The New Covenant has a morality that supercedes that of the Old in glory. The Old demands morality but the New supplies morality. They were commanded in the Old Testament to not sin, but in the new the language is refreshingly new, "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." (I John 3:9). He frames his language in a way that shows a fundamental shift in communication. Anyone who has been born of God does not sin. The eternal life in them does not permit them. The divine nature in them restrains them. It is not in the order of the gods to sin. There are things kings don't do. It's amazing how God addresses us in comradely language.

This is true Christianity. It was prophesied by Ezekiel in no uncertain terms: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." (Ezekiel 36:26‭-‬27). Instead of commanding saying "Thou shalt walk in my statutes", God is saying that "When the new species come from the new birth after the cross, they will do My will because My nature(heart and Spirit) will be in them". "New heart and new spirit" means new life from God which is eternal life. The proof of eternal life is our love walk. And love is the fulfillment of all of God's moral law. Only those who are still abiding in death walk in hatred. They belong to the devil, they are full of darkness for in him is no light at all. The solution is not to tell them to stop because they will not. The solution is to help them receive God's gift of eternal life and they will walk upright naturally, not by compulsion or persuasion. There is a new creation in town that sin not, because the seed of God remains in them.

SPEAK OUT.

I do not sin and I can not sin because the seed of God remains in me.
