The Secret of Prosperity

"This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success." — Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)

When God called Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land, He gave him the secret of success in clear and unambiguous terms. But consider the magnitude of Joshua's assignment. He had served as Moses' assistant, and now he was stepping into the sandals of the greatest leader Israel had ever known—a man who spoke with God face to face, who parted the Red Sea so God's people could walk on dry ground, who brought down manna from heaven, and who turned bitter water sweet. The list of Moses' accomplishments seemed endless.

How could anyone follow in such footsteps?

God's answer was simple yet profound: the Word. Joshua's success would not depend on his own abilities or charisma, but on three disciplines—speaking the Word, meditating on the Word, and doing the Word.

This same principle applies to you today. If you want to prosper and succeed in whatever God has called you to do, you must place a premium on the Word of God. Read it regularly. Ponder deeply on the truths and revelations contained within its pages. And most importantly, do what it says.

Here's where many believers stop short. They read the Bible. They study it. They even memorize verses. But success belongs to the doers—those who put the Word into practice. As James 1:22 warns, "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves" (NKJV). Self-deception is hearing the Word and doing nothing about what you hear.

Jesus Himself reinforced this truth when He said, "If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them" (John 13:17, NKJV). Knowledge without action produces no fruit. But when you live by the Word, aligning your thoughts, words, and actions with Scripture, prosperity and success become your portion.

The secret is no longer a secret. It's an open invitation: meditate on God's Word day and night, speak it with your mouth, and most of all, live it out in your daily life. This is the pathway to unrestricted success and lasting prosperity.

Prayer

Thank You, Father, for Your Word. I value it more than my necessary food. Give me grace to act on what You are showing me in the Scriptures. I believe that as I live by the Word, prosperity and success are my portion, in Jesus' name. Amen.
