The Seven Horns Of The Lamb Part 2: Absolute Power Over Sin.
| Spiry Tee
"And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth."
(Revelation 5:6 NASB+)
It has become a global church anthem that says "Everyone is a sinner". It is widely reported thus because people see the dominion of sin. People know to do what is right but end up doing the wrong thing which is a revelation of the law of sin active in the flesh.
Sin is a monster. Most people don't want to do wrong but find themselves doing it because sin is lording it over them. It is because of sin that we have broken homes, dysfunctional families and sometimes poor health. Marriages are disintegrating like no one has ever seen. Who is the culprit? Sin.
Those who are honest with themselves know that without a Savior sinning is inevitable. We need a Savior who never sinned even when He "wore" the same body we have. Peter who was a man of action said about that, "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:" (1 Peter 2:22 KJV)
Paul, who was a man of staggering intellectual prowess said, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV). Jesus did no sin.
Apostle John, who was a man of the heart said about Jesus, "And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin." (1 John 3:5 KJV). In Jesus, there is no sin.
So whichever way you look at Jesus you can not find sin for He KNEW no sin, DID no sin, and IN HIM was no sin. He made sin of none effect. He is the only one who didn't make an excuse when it came to sin.
"The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins." (Romans 8:3 NLT).
Jesus condemned sin in the flesh. Sin's control over us was broken. "We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin." (Romans 6:6 NLT).
Sin has no dominion over us who are in Christ because we have been crucified with Christ and placed under the dominion of God's grace. "Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace." (Romans 6:14 NLT).
Therefore sin is no longer that monster that can't be resisted. Once we are born again, the seed of God remains in us and we are empowered to live sin free. "And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin."
"Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." (I John 3:5-6, 9 NKJV).
And since sin is the sting of death, victory over sin means victory over death. "The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (I Corinthians 15:56-57 NKJV).
SPEAK LIFE.
I have dominion over sin because of Jesus Christ my Lord. I live sin free under grace. This victory I have over sin in Christ is victory over death. I will live and not die to declare the works of the Lord.
