The Seven 'I am' Statements Of Jesus Part 2: I Am The Way, The Truth And The Life.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
John 14:6 NKJV
After Phillip asked where Jesus was going including the way there, after He finished His ministry on earth, Jesus told Phillip that He was the way, the truth, and life.
Jesus' answers amaze me. Imagine when you ask someone for direction and they tell you that the direction is them. You will think they are trying to play with your mind. But Jesus emphasized it by saying that no one can "come" to the Father except through Him.
Do you see how He uses the word "come to the Father" and not "go to the Father"? It's significant because it shows where the person giving direction is. If you are not in the place you are directing you say "go there", but when you are where you want the person to be you say "come here".
Jesus was already in the Father. He was at home in God already. So Jesus is not the way to heaven but to the Father who is in heaven of course. Christianity's goal is to reconcile man to God and restore man's broken relationship with God and not mass evacuation of man from earth to heaven.
Jesus is also the truth and the life. Truth means reality and life means the essence of the Godhead. Outside of Christ there is no life and without Jesus in focus man is just shadow boxing. Existence without Christ is like a broken pencil, there is no point. He is the way to give you access to the Throneroom of heaven, He is the truth to give you meaning and purpose, He is life to prevent you from dying.
SPEAK OUT
In Christ I have direction, I have meaning and purpose, and I will not die for He is my way, my truth and my life.
