The Spirit Of The Fear Of The Lord.

"There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord . His delight is in the fear of the Lord,"
(Isaiah 11:1-3 NKJV)
Isaiah prophesies about the coming of the Son of God and one of the characteristics the Son shall be identified by is that the Spirit of the fear of the Lord shall rest upon Him. There is something beautiful about reverence for the Lord that only kings understand.
The fear of the Lord is an attitude you have towards God that causes you to tremble at His Word. The fear of Lord causes you to respond to God with prompt obedience (Genesis 22:12). This is not the obedience that seeks acceptance before God, no.
It is obeying because you have been accepted. The obedience of Christ was enough to bring us to God. Now that we are in a relationship with the Father, He deserves our reverence (Malachi 1:6).
Jesus was full of the fear of God and that is why everything He did was to please His Father. He only did what He saw His Father do. He was consumed with desire to only do God's will and fulfill it (John 4:34).
When He was tempted to quit in the garden of Gethsemane, the tension was so high because the stakes were very high, Jesus submitted His will to that of the Father. The cup was bitter and heavy so much so that He pleaded with the Father to let it pass, but He was quick to say "but not my will but Yours be done" (Luke 22:42).
The Bible says that Jesus learned obedience by the things He suffered. Jesus was made to be the first born among many brethren. As He is so are we in this world. The fear of the Lord was birthed in you when you were born again and you must walk in it. To walk in perfection, walking in the fear of the Lord is a necessity.
SPEAK OUT.
Just like Jesus I am filled with the Spirit of the fear of the Lord.
