THE SPIRIT PRAYER: Don't Take Them Out Of The World.
| Spiry Tee
"I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world." (John 17:15-16 NKJV).
The Bible says that Jesus offered up prayers to God in the days of His flesh(Hebrews 5:7), and one of such loaded Spirit prayer in the presence of His disciples is in John 17. He prayed to the Father that He should not take us OUT of the world.
This is instructive but also disruptive to the greater narrative in the Christian circles today where people believe that if a Christian dies they have been promoted to heaven. The death of a Christian is not a graduation or promotion. It's just death.
After burial, just thank God for resurrection that will happen when Jesus comes back and go back home. Don't embarrass yourself with unscriptural platitudes and clichès.
Jesus did not come to take people up to heaven, He came to bring heaven down to earth. He clearly asked the Father not to take us out of the world but that we REMAIN and be kept from the evil one.
The people that were promoted to glory are Enoch, Elijah and Jesus. The rest including your Christian relatives and friends died. Thank God they shall be raised to life everlasting at the resurrection of the just.
Jesus wants you alive and well here on earth. When He wants you out, He will rapture you out of here. Meanwhile you are needed in worldwide evangelism. The task of making disciples is still undone and Jesus can do with one more life.
A dead saint is no good for the kingdom here on earth. It is a costly thing to God if one of His people die. "From Adonai’s point of view, the death of those faithful to him is costly." (Psalm 116:15 CJB). I pray that you will live and remain until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ doing the Master's business in the earth.
SPEAK LIFE.
Jesus wants me here on earth. My death is costly to the Lord.
