THE SPIRIT PRAYER: Know The Will Of God.

"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;"
Colossians 1:9 NKJV

If you would ask many believers they would tell you that they would do, live, and conform to the will of God if only they knew exactly what that will was. The good news is it's very easy to know the will of God for your life. It is NOT true that the will of God can never be known.

The Spirit through apostle again prays for the believers at Colosse that God would fill them with the "knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding" (Colossians 1:9). Knowing God's will is paramount because we can not have the true Christian experience without accurate knowledge of God's will.

The Lord Jesus came so that we would search no more. He was the exact representation of the Father. He came to do the will of God so that we would know it and walk in it as well. "Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’” (Hebrews 10:7 NKJV).

How do I know that sickness is not the will of God for you? It's simple: Jesus came healing those who were oppressed by the devil. "...how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." (Acts 10:38 NKJV). Jesus cannot take away what God gives. If He took away sickness it means it came not from God.

Poverty or suffering as a result of lack or helplessness is never God's will for you. Apostle Paul defined the will of God in simple terms, "Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2 NLT).

The will of God for you is everything good, everything acceptable (pleasing), and everything perfect. Anything that is not good, pleasing, and perfect is NOT the will of God. James subscribed to the same spiritual intelligence, "Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow." (James 1:17 NLT).

If it comes from God then it is good, pleasing and perfect. Sickness and death are not good, pleasing and perfect therefore they are not from God. When you know this you will not embarrass yourself at a cancer victim's funeral by saying their death was the will of God.

God is not a murderer. We know who the murderer is. "For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning..." (John 8:44 NLT).

SPEAK LIFE.
I see the will of God in Christ Jesus who raised the dead, and healed all who were oppressed of the devil. God wants me well, healthy, and alive. He is the God of the living.
