Why We Do What We Do: Pray.

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
Matthew 21:22
What is the source of life? And how is life once given sustained? The answers to these questions are largely unknown but they are very simple. God is the source of all life in the universe. He is the fountain of life. "Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. (Acts 17:25 NKJV).
Once given, life is sustained when the created remain connected to their source. Fish cannot live outside the water because fish was made by the water as God commanded. Man only became a living soul when God breathed into His nostrils the breath of life. That means that man came from God and to remain alive, man must needs be connected to God.
Every relationship survives through communication. Jesus came to reconcile man who had gone astray to God who is the source of life. And now that, as a Christian, you are in a relationship with God, you must needs be talking to Him. A marriage without communication, that is talking, cannot survive for long.
As a gift of grace, God gave us prayer as a means to communicate our deepest feelings and desires to Him and for Him. We commune with God through prayer. That is why we pray. And as we pray, whatever we ask the Father in the name of Jesus we receive. Prayer is not just to make us have a religious 'feel good' experience. We must pray believing that God hears and answers because He does.
Jesus encouraged His disciples to ask in prayer that their joy may be full. “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." (John 16:23-24 NKJV).
So pray however you feel like because nobody can regulate relationship. If you prefer to pray standing, do it. Sometimes you need to kneel down and talk to your Father, go ahead and express your love to Him. You can pray loud or soft, the important thing is that you are talking to your Father. We sometimes have to pray as a church body. Corporate prayers are sometimes more powerful. We should always pray and not faint.
SPEAK LIFE.
My relationship with God flourishes through prayer. The power of God in me is made operational as I engage in fervent prayers.
